The body is a brilliant design.
It strives to heal itself.

Kinesiology is a form of therapy derived from chiropractic study introduced in 1964. It is the gentle art of muscle testing used to identify imbalances of a mental, physical, spiritual or chemical nature within a person. Once identified, they are corrected through relevant procedures and protocols.

About Gwen

Discovering the connection between mental, spiritual and emotional states and how they affect health was a big turning point in my life, ultimately steering me into a new career path.

When I went for my first Kinesiology session to treat the fatigue and digestive problems I was experiencing, I felt better very quickly and I had the profound experience of a therapist who cared and listened to me . The muscle testing was a hoot and it felt like pure magic. The emotional, spiritual, physical and mental parts of me were considered and important. I felt heard and had a roadmap to recovery. I was shown what I was doing to myself, and how to practice self care and allow my body to heal.

I soon attended my first Kinesiology workshop and haven’t looked back since. The journey continues as I add more tools by studying various modalities in Kinesiology with great local and international Kinesiology teachers.

I love applying what I’ve learnt in class and from my clients in every session. Each person truly is like a puzzle, and I aim to attend to my clients with the same care and kindness that was shown to me, when I discovered the miracle of  Kinesiology the first time.

I am based in Blouberg, Cape Town, South Africa.

What can Kinesiology be used for?

Kinesiology can be used to find relief from physical, emotional, spiritual and mental difficulties.

Emotional Problems

Using muscle feedback to quickly identify the related aspects of the emotional problems. Bringing awareness and clarity to create healthy associations to an event or emotion.

Digestive Disorders

Everybody is different in their specific needs to have a healthy gut, be it emotional support, diet changes, stress reduction or very specific fine tuning of the microbiota and digestion.

Allergies

Determine if the allergy is a true allergy that the person was born with, or a reaction to trauma. In the latter, the allergy can be successfully be treated using Emotional Kinesiology, N.O.T or Neuro-Training.

Trauma

The body and mind both hold trauma. We find the best way to bring understanding and release to both body and mind. Helping the person put the trauma in the past and live fully in the present.

Learning Difficulties

Any trauma- emotional or physical, a difficult birth, separation at birth, any minor sporting accident and diet can affect how the brain functions. Babies, children and adults can see great results.

Goal Setting

We use basic Kinesiology Principles that are very powerful to help the person set attainable goals. We identify and eliminate obstacles, making the path to success clear and measurable.

What is Kinesiology

It is a simple and safe technique, to enhance the body’s own recuperative powers.

“Advanced Kinesiology is the science of assessing the energetic systems of a person for balanced function, by using the change of physiological response through the muscular system as feedback. Using this same feedback, Advanced Kinesiology identifies the priority, non-invasive treatment strategy to primarily affect and balance the energetic systems of a person for the purpose of promoting, restoring and maintaining health.” – The International Association of Specialized Kinesiologists (IASK)

An important aspect of Kinesiology is the theory of the Triangle of Health, also called the Universal Healing Model. It is made up of the Structural, Biochemical / Mental and Emotional aspects with the Energetic aspect (Meridians) which acts as a link between them. It is a model representing the relationships between various contexts that we need for our lives to be healthy. This model identifies how specific contexts influence us. The conflicts in or between any of these contexts can be seen in symptoms.

The relationships between these aspects is found with muscle monitoring.

  • Fortune telling
  • A diagnostic tool
  • A quick fix

Modalities

Kinesiology uses muscle feedback to tie many modalities together. The synthesis of techniques involves skills from modern chiropractic, naturopathy, osteopathy, ancient Chinese acupuncture, homeopathy, iridology and cheirology.

Neural Organisation Technique

Neural Organizational Technique (N.O.T) was developed by a Chiropractor Dr Carl Ferreri. N.O.T, by using specific neural reflexes in sequence and with a systems approach, is a most profound system which can be used as a stand alone technology or with other kinesiology modalities for almost all client problems that may present in a clinical setting.

Uses: Trauma, Learning Difficulties, Scoliosis, Back pain, pain in extremities and joints, Bunions, jaw-, hip-, pelvis- misalignment, digestive problems.

Neuro-Training

Neuro-Training ‘re-conditions’ how you view your life experience. It also re-trains the patterns of how your subconscious thinks your life should be. Neuro-Training allows you to move beyond your challenges and expand your life metaphor.

Uses: Mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing.

Touch for Health

Touch for health is used for Goal setting, finding the energy disruptions that prevent a person from reaching their full potential, be it in sports, at work or in their personal life.

Uses: Goal setting, Postural Stress Relase, Emotional Stress Release.

Emotional Kinesiology

Sometimes, us humans attach a misperception to an emotion and situation, potentially causing our relationship with ourselves and others to become challenging. With Emotional Kinesiology we find all the thoughts and emotions and break the misperceived associations.

Uses: Emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. Allergies, Addictions, Compulsive Disorders and Phobias.

Neurogastroenterology

The gut and the nervous System are interconnected with the brain, with the Immune System, and the Endocrine System. In this work we explore how they relate to the perception and process of emotions.

The Gut, particularly the Small Intestine, is not just the second site of a higher concentration of neurons (second only to the brain and higher than the spinal cord), but

it’s also the site of the main component of the Immune System and of the Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue (GALT).

Alteration of the gut flora can produce toxins due to intestinal fermentation and putrefaction. This can cause a wide number of symptoms.

Uses: Treat Depression, Dyslexia, IBS, Leaky Gut Syndrome,

  • the Digestive System
  • the Immune System
  • the Endocrine System,
  • food sensitivity (especially gluten)
  • chronic and autoimmune diseases
  • the ability of the gut to absorb water
  • gut motility
  • enzymes and Enzymatic factors necessary for digestion
  • Second Brain as the site of our unconscious emotions
  • relationship of the gut microbiota to the urogenital, vaginal, prostatic and oral microbiota
  • hormones and neurotransmitters produced by the gut

Neurocardiology

The Heart – The Third Brain, he Neurological aspects of the Heart, seen from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Format and balance all the Heart-Brain Neurological circuits. The goal is to repair all the old wounds of genetic and genealogical emotional memories stored in the heart that impede the development of the person’s own qualities.

Uses: Trauma, finding your life’s purpose, memory, learning, stress reactions, emotional reactions, Attention Deficit Disorders, Autism, depression and many other cognitive functions.

Spine Physiology

Classical Osteopathic knowledge applied in a kinesiological way. Through muscle testing I asses and balance the spinal column, working on vertebras, ligaments, muscles (64 related to the 64 I Ching), meninges, reciprocal tension membranes and central aponeurotic axis. This is very structural work.

Connectivology

I work on the Connective Tissue and Fascias through the Tendino-Muscular Meridians (called also Sinew Meridians) to do Somato-Emotional work. I work on the concept of Ground Regulation, with the muscle chains, the Fascias and Skin. I balance the body to release stresses of past traumas using a technique called Subconscious Trauma Release. This is both structural and an emotional work.
